Key ingredients that make it work
Salicylic acid
This multifunctional ingredient addresses many of the systemic causes of acne. For decades dermatologists have been prescribing salicylic acid as a gentle exfoliant and anti-inflammatory. Salicylic acid’s antimicrobial properties make it extremely effective at treating breakouts. It has the ability to penetrate into the pore lining and exfoliate inside the pore as well as on the surface of skin, which makes it effective for reducing breakouts, including blackheads and whiteheads. It is also well documented salicylic acid can improve skin thickness, barrier function, and collagen production.
Tea tree
Studies have shown that tea tree oil is just as effective as benzoly peroxide, to reduce acne. It is a natural alternative for curing acne, without negative side effects like reddening and peeling of skin. It also reduces sebum production by the skin and eliminates. Tea tree oil is an excellent skin treatment especially for oily and acne prone skin. Tea tree also has anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and is an antioxidant.
Volcanic ash
Known as a “living clay” because of the high dose of minerals it provides the skin with. Volcanic ash is a natural skin purifier helping to flush out toxins and dirt from the skin. It also assists with absorbing excess oil helping to prevent acne without over drying the skin. An excellent exfoliant, volcanic ash removes dead cells and rejuvenates the skin. In addition, volcanic ash improves the appearance of acne scars and tightens skin’s pores. Volcanic ash contains essential enzymes which help prevent wrinkles, restore elasticity and boost blood circulation to the skin.
Grape
The antioxidants present in grapes protect the skin from the harmful effects of free radicals helping to prevent premature aging. Grapes contain vitamin C which is known for its superior skin brightening capabilities. Vitamin C is also necessary to produce collagen which helps skin retain its elasticity and youthful plumpness. The enzymes present in grapes exfoliate the skin removing dead skin cells helping to reduce dark spots and pigmentation.
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic Acid molecules have the unique ability to carry a 1,000 times their weight in water, more than any other biological substance. Hyaluronic Acid is also a “smart nutrient” as it can adjust its moisture absorption rate based on the humidity – relative to the season and the climate. This improves your skin’s moisture content whilst at the same time strengthening your skin’s barrier, helping your skin to look and feel softer, smoother, and plumper.
